Security operatives on Wednesday May 6, intercepted about 150 travellers together with Almajiri children travelling in three vehicles alongside the Abuja-Kaduna highway.
The Commissioner for Human Resources and Social Development in the state, Hafsat Baba. Disclosed that the travellers attempting to enter the state from the Federal Capital Territory, (Abuja) and Nyanya in Nasarawa State.
She informed Channels TV that other almajiris additionally intercepted in Soba and Giwa Local Government Areas of the state. Out of the 150 intercepted travellers, 90 are from Kano State. Whereas the others are from Nasarawa and Birinin Gwari Local Government in Kaduna.
All of the non-indigenous Almajiris and other travellers returned to their states, whereas those from Kaduna quarantined for a interval of 14 days.
