Kelechi Madu, the Canadian-based Nigerian man who was appointed minister of justice and solicitor-general of the Province of Alberta, conveyed his gratitude to Nigerians.
Taking to his Twitter page to thank Nigerians, the minister said he looks forward to the day when Nigeria and Africa become places where hard work and merit are rewarded.
He tweeted: “Thank you for all the support and prayers coming from Nigeria and Nigerians in the Diaspora. I look forward to the day when Nigeria and Africa become places where hard work and merit are rewarded. Chukwu Gozie!”
Remember that after he was appointed, Madu took to his LinkedIn page to reflect on his new appointment and promised to guarantee that everyone in Alberta has access to equal justice.
Madu said he cherishes the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which says: “Every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination.”
He assured that those words in the charter would flourish in the lives of Albertans and inspire confidence.
Speaking with BBC, Madu said his story could only have been possible in his province of Alberta.
The Nigerian man said he looks forward to the day when Nigerians can achieve their God-given potential in their country, regardless of their states of origin and regardless of who their parents are.
