Nigeria records 248 new cases of COVID-19, total now 4399

NCDC confirmed the new cases in a tweet on Sunday night at 11:45pm.
81 cases recorded in Lagos, 35 in Jigawa, 26 in Borno and Kano.
4399 cases have been confirmed, 778 cases have been discharged and 143 deaths.

Nigeria has reported 248 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the overall number of infections within the nation to 4399 cases.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the new cases in a tweet on Sunday night at 11:45pm. It said “On the 10th of Might 2020, 248 new confirmed cases and 17 deaths were recorded in Nigeria “No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours”.

248 new cases are reported from 17 states. 81 cases recorded in Lagos, 35 in Jigawa, 26 in Borno and Kano respectively.

20 recorded in Bauchi, 13 in FCT, 12 in Edo, 10 in Sokoto, 7 in Zamfara. 4 new cases recorded in Kwara and Kebbi each, 2 cases in Gombe, Taraba, Ogun and Ekiti respectively. 1 in Osun and Bayelsa each.

Till date, 4399 cases have been confirmed, 778 cases have been discharged and 143 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Since February 27 when Nigeria confirmed its index COVID-19 case, the virus has spread with cases confirmed in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory Abuja.
