The National Youth Service Scheme, (NYSC) commenced preparations for reopening of the suspended Katsina orientation camp in the next two weeks.
The Katsina State Coordinator of NYSC Alhaji Yahaya Ahidjo declared this to on Sunday briskly after returning from a management meeting of the scheme at its Abuja National headquarters.
He has written to the State Government and COVID-19 Committees to get back NYSC facilities in their custodies for fumigation and conditioning
According to him ”At the Abuja meeting we were asked to liaise with our respective state government in getting our camp ready in 2weeks from today and to observe social distancing in all camp activities and all other COVID-19 protocols.
”And we expect half of the normal number of corpers in the next camp.”
The camp suspended nationwide in early April by Director General of the scheme Brigadier General Musa Shuaibu over the coronavirus outbreak.
The activities of the scheme scaled down to passing out of several batches of corps members in strict obedience with COVID-19 protocols.
