The state Police Public Relations Officer, Abiodun Wasiu, stated this on Monday while briefing journalists in Minna, the state capital.
According to Wasiu, arrests were made while police operatives attached to the anti-kidnapping unit were on patrol around Gwada/Shiroro Road.
He said, “One Abdulkareem and Nura were arrested with the sum of N1.5m in their possession. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to be members of armed bandits terrorising Kasasu/Galadima Koga area of Shiroro local government area and that the money were proceeds of kidnapping and sales of rustled cattle.”
The police spokesman also revealed that the command was investigating another suspect arrested along Ibbi/New Busa Road.
He said the suspect was found with N1.7m, adding that he confessed that the money was his share from the ransom collected from people kidnapped in Nasko and Mashegu areas.
