Samuel Eto’o is having none of the conveyed rumours that Lionel Messi is prepared to quit Barcelona, as the Cameroonian legend says the club has to deliberate changing its name if that occurs.
Lionel Messi is obviously angry with the Barcelona board and latest gossips have it that the Argentine make threats to leave the Catalan club in 2021.
The Sun are stating that Messi, whose contract come to an end in the summer of 2021, told the club board to reform the squad totally else he would leave.
It was the darkest night in the history of the club and Messi could hardly comprehend how they were outclassed in such a manner and reports say the Argentine is ready to leave the club.
“I love Messi like he was my own son, I want the best for him. Barcelona is Messi, and I think if Messi decides to leave, we’ll have to change the name of the club,” Eto’o told Argentine TV channel TyCSports as cited in Dailymail.
“We are lucky that at Barcelona, we have the best player in the world and of all-time, we have to do everything possible to ensure he finishes his career at Barcelona.”
Messi fighting the club management for over a year now as regards where the future lies as he also considers his own.
The Argentinian has a year left on his contract but may open to new opportunities as reports suggest he has grown ‘frustrated’ with Barcelona’s lack of performance and planning.
