The Federal Authorities declared Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July, 2020 as Public Holidays to mark this year’s Eid-el-Kabir Celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, while making the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated Muslim devoted and all Nigerians both at home and overseas on the occasion. He called on the Muslims to proceed to imbibe the spirit of love, peace, kindness and sacrifice, as exemplified by the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon Him) and to additionally use the interval to pray for peace, unity, prosperity and the stability of the nation particularly because the world is witnessing world health challenges attributable to Covid-19 pandemic.
Ogbeni Rauf Aregbosola who assured that the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is absolutely dedicated to battling the scourge with the cooperation of all Nigerians, emphasized that authorities would proceed to foster peaceable coexistence, national cohesion and stability in its march in the direction of actualizing the complete potentials of the nation.
He called on all Nigerians to join hands with the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in its avowed determination to construct a peaceable, harmonious and affluent nation, where the rights of each citizen, are protected and assured, as enshrined within the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Minister suggested Nigerians to take duty in opposition to the unfold of the COVID-19 virus and likewise to remain safe by observing physical and social distancing, personal and respiratory hygiene, in addition to different regulations issued by related authorities.
